I’ve been using the Redrock Micro M2 Encore imaging system with a Sony Z1U HDV camera for some of our clients and am very impressed with it. It has minimal light loss, about a third of a stop. We have made it a standard offering with our HD crews in San Diego and Los Angeles.. We use Zeiss prime lenses with the M2 yielding super sharp images with shallow depth of field. Shallow depth of field is virtually impossible with standard small imager cameras. In the photo above right, Peter Ryan of Bridge Street Productions, conducts an interview for their client IBM. Professional Profile-Leslie Ann Nichols
It isn’t often that I get to work with someone who helps set the standard for talent, ability, professionalism, and genuine character. Leslie Ann Nichols of Junkdrawer Media, Philadelphia, produced and coordinated the video production for Hall Media, Philadelphia of the Taking Care of Your Diabetes conference in San Diego last month. Sloan Productions provided the crew and equipment, 5 cameras, etc. It is my opinion that truly great producers and coordinators have a particular gene for it that most of us don’t.
Leslie does admit to being a tad anal, but she handles everything with a sense of calm and good natured humor. When she has to get tough, she does that appropriately as well. I wholeheartedly endorse her. She’ll make a great contribution to any project she works on! She and her company have some really great projects going as well.
Website Video Production
One of the routine services we accomplish for our clients is producing video clips for their websites. In this photo, Kimber Mahon, delivers a client’s message. Sloan Productions has a great deal of experience in producing web video content. “We have been producing video way before the internet as we know it ever existed”, according to Bob Sloan, owner and president.
Kimber is one of my favorite on-camera talent professionals to work with. She is extremely professional, very, very experienced, looks great, and works fast. I highly recommend her to any producer or production company.

Hand-held Photography Made Easier
By employing the use of an Easyrig®, Bob is able to greatly reduce the stress of hand-held photography. “30 years of professional camerawork takes it’s toll on your body, but the impulse and need to work hand-held never stops”. The Easyrig® is ergonomically designed, reduces the static load on the neck and shoulder muscles, re-distributing it to other parts of the body which are more capable of handling it.
