When shooting interviews, it’s important to have the subject’s eye line on axis with the camera lens so that it doesn’t appear that the subject is looking over or under the camera. To accomplish this, the interviewer must be in-line or very close to the same axis line as depicted in the photo below. This can get tricky when aligning the subject in the shot with a particular background, in this case a basketball standard , (unseen in this photo), which was very high. This is why we had to raise the subject’s chair up on the apple boxes and lower the camera as well.
